Please read the updates on the government mandated benefits from Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG Fund, and Social Security System (SSS).
Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth):
PhilHealth assured the public that it will shoulder the full cost of treatment of CoViD-19 cases until April 14, 2020.
As of noon time April 7, 2020, the following hospitals have verbally advised adherence to the cashless access for confirmed COVID cases.
- St. Luke’s Medical Center (BGC and QC)
- Medical Center Manila
- Manila East Medical Center
- Fe Del Mundo
- Capitol Medical Center
- World City Medical Center
- Calamba Medical Center
- Calamba Doctors Hospital
Everyone is encouraged to call first and validate directly with hospitals, including those above, as the list is bound to change rapidly. Kindly also note that Philhealth has advised that full support is guaranteed until April 14, 2020. Here is their latest press release in this regard. https://www.philhealth.gov.ph/news/2020/will_pay.php
Given the inundation of news regarding Philhealth coverage for COVID, you may be wondering about what the coverage is now. We hope that the attached file (PhilHealth Summary as of April 15, 2020) may be of help. Please note that there is a distinct difference between coverage for confinement ending April 14 (no limit) and starting April 15 (subject to case rates). Please also note that for confinement up to April 14 wherein coverage is 100%, instead of Philhealth shouldering the whole bill, the Circular states that HMO pays first before Philhealth. Since April 14 has come and gone, and the Circular was published only yesterday, those who had to pay in excess of their HMO coverage, may file a claim directly with Philhealth.
